Shungite has become popularized just in the last few years.
Most geologists now agree that the Shungite deposit was created by layers & layers of ancient organic remains and was created long before animals roamed the earth. It is estimated to be about 2 Billion years old. There are two types: Elite Shungite and Classical Shungite. Elite shungite is a rare stone, making up just 1% of the Shungite. It gets its name from its discovery deposit-site near the Shun’ga village in Karelia, Russia and is more than 98% pure carbon. Elite Shungite is silver-gray or black with glassy surfaces. It does not leave stains or rub off on the skin. Due to its high carbon content Elite Shungite is lighter in weight than the classical type, which consists of 5-60% carbon. Shungite is different than other forms of carbon such as graphite or diamond ~ the carbon molecules in Shungite are called fullerenes. The Fullerene molecule is the roundest and most symmetrical large molecule known. In fact, the Nobel Prize was awarded for the discovery of the Fullerene molecule. Quantum physics shows that the energy of Shungite spins in a clockwise direction. All types of toxins in food, water, etc spin counterclockwise. When confronted by Shungite’s clockwise spin, the toxic molecules self-destruct as they begin to resonate or vibrate in unison with the Shungite. In regards to health benefits, fullerenes are the most powerful and long-acting antioxidants known. They normalize cellular metabolism, increase enzyme activity, and strengthen the stability of cells. All body processes have the opportunity to work better in the presence of fullerenes. Therefore, the higher the percentage of carbon, the more fullerenes are present. ****There are numerous web articles that make a lot of unfounded claims about Shungite. Some say it can do EVERYTHING & cure ALL, however the following has been scientifically proven. FACT: “Shungite is an effective sorbent for removal of organic and inorganic substances, pathogenic bacteria and heavy metals from contaminated water.” ~ as quoted from respected scientific source: Science Direct. In other words, it purifies water & has anti-bacterial properties. After thoroughly washed, Elite Shungite (98% carbon) ~ not the un-pure varieties or the varieties that are only 30—50% carbon ~ is totally safe to put directly in your water-glass. FACT: Shungite with a higher percentage of fullerenes has a unique property of being able to conduct energy. It has also been reported by people using Shungite that it:

So, be sure to ask the seller about the purity of their Shungite & if they’re not sure, move on to someone else. Elite shungite is very fragile and is only found in the raw form. It is used mainly to treat water or for its energetic properties in crystal therapy. Elite shungite has higher carbon content and therefore has stronger bioenergy. Although an expensive alternative to Black Tourmaline and Hematite, Malachite also NEUTRALIZES EMF’S, the energy from electronic devices, T.V., computers, microwaves, etc. The color of a crystal or stone plays a really important part in how it will be used for healing.
The colors (light frequencies) arrange themselves in order of decreasing vibrational wavelengths. Of these specific light frequencies, red is the longer wavelength (lower frequency) & violet is the shortest wavelength (higher frequency). We may find that we’re drawn to a specific color, that we often wear the same color, or that just seeing a certain hue makes us feel better, uplifted, joyful. This makes total sense when you consider that each of our chakras correlates with a specific color. Using a crystal whose color matches the chakra colors allows photons of light to harmonize & amplify; generating color healing. Introducing light of specific frequencies–colors–into someone’s electromagnetic field, or aura, synchronizes a person’s emotional & biochemical states & encourages balance & good health. Green Calcite is cooling to the “hot” emotions such as anger and irritability. It nurtures positive traits like compassion and clears the Heart chakra of stress. It engenders forgiveness to oneself and others. Used directly over the Heart chakra it can assist in releasing buried emotions that may have manifested into physical disease. From a yin and yang perspective, the world is transitioning from winter, the most yin season of the year to SPRING, the most YANG season of the year. Nature explodes with the coming of spring ~ bulbs erupt from the soil, animals come out of migration, tree sap begins to flow.
According to traditional Chinese medicine, spring is the time of the LIVER and GALL BLADDER. The emotion most closely tied to the liver is ANGER. You may find yourself becoming easily angered over trivial matters. Anger is the most yang of the emotions and therefore is congruent with the spring. By comparison, the emotion of fear is associated with winter and has a constrictive quality. Just as the sap of a tree reverses its directional flow upwards, our emotions also find their way to the surface and may explode forth more easily in the spring than at any other time of year. Other emotional difficulties related to anger that may bubble up are impatience, frustration, resentment, rudeness, edginess, arrogance and aggression. Chinese medicine teaches that the liver is the organ that is most susceptible to congestion or stagnation ~ for example, STRESS causes Liver Qi stagnation. When congested it throws the body into disharmony. This disharmony may be the root cause of the pent up emotions that may be bursting forth. The muscles and tendons of our body are governed by the Liver organ system. When the Liver Qi is constrained it may manifest in random MUSCLE SPASMS OR CRAMPS. When the body is out of balance the Liver may try to rectify the imbalance of qi by overacting on the Spleen/Stomach, which would manifest in acid reflex, indigestion, intestinal discomforts. Because spring is associated with the liver, it is important to have a diet that strengthens and cleanses the liver. There are many foods serving the purpose of soothing and cleansing the liver. GREEN is the color of the liver and of spring. Green and leafy vegetables, especially if the plants are young, help by cleansing and refreshing the body. They benefit the liver’s overall well-being, as do dandelion and milk thistle. A balanced diet with a variety of juices such as citrus fruits, pear, apple, celery and carrot is very helpful. Sprouts from seeds such as beans, mung, and radish are valuable for spring use, as well. An excellent time to get acupuncture is when the seasons change and our energy becomes imbalanced. Most people associate IMMUNITY with the ability to ward off colds, flu's, etc. But having a strong immunity has much greater implications than helping us escape seasonal illnesses. White blood cells, also known as leukocytes, are the body's natural defense against infections, and are a major part of the function of the immune system. They eat away foreign bacteria and other organisms that invade the body, and they are therefore responsible for immunity. Ways to boost immunity include: Get regular acupuncture Eat a healthy diet. Many people only think about their health when it is in danger; don't wait until you are sick or injured to care for your body. Making healthy food choices on a daily basis is one of the best ways to maintain your cardiovascular health, improve your energy levels, and keep your muscles and bones strong. A healthy diet should be high in fruits, vegetables, and lean protein, and low in excess sugar, fat, and alcohol. Protein is the most important component of white blood cells. You can get protein from meat, dairy, eggs and vegetables. Avoid saturated fats, but eat plenty of unsaturated fats. Eat limited amounts of carbohydrates. Exercise regularly. Getting enough exercise improves your cardiovascular health, and greatly reduces the likelihood of certain chronic diseases.. Exercise increases the flow of blood through different parts of the body, and it increases the body's excretion of harmful metabolites, helping your immune system function properly, and may even decrease your chances of developing heart disease, osteoporosis, and cancer. Stop smoking. Smoking harms nearly every organ in the body, damages your immune system and increases the likelihood for stroke, heart attack, and lung cancer. Nicotine binds to hemoglobin in the blood in preference to oxygen reducing its capacity to deliver oxygen to each cell of the body. Drink enough water. Water helps energize your muscles, improve bowel function, and balance your body's fluid levels. Limit alcohol consumption. When it is metabolized in the body, alcohol results in the formation of harmful chemicals, which can destroy white blood cells. Alcohol also decreases the absorption of many vitamins and minerals, adversely affecting white blood cell count. Sleep for at least six to eight hours a night. Getting adequate sleep not only improves your mood and energy levels, it prevents strokes and helps you manage your weight. Sufficient deep sleep also helps the cells replenish and regenerate and is therefore necessary if you want to maintain a healthy immune system. Manage stress. Stress isn't just an emotion; it has physical repercussions, and chronic stress can negatively affect your immune system .Stress strains the body's resources, which can decrease the function of your immune system. Bone broth is nothing new ~ it was once considered peasant food. Bone broth is easily made by slowly simmering marrow and knuckle bones with vegetables, (using a crockpot makes it real easy). The broth is extraordinarily rich in protein and minerals. The gelatin rendered from the bones during the cooking process is a good source of glucosamine and chondroitin which supports joint health. The broth is easily absorbed by the body, and can be used instead of ordinary beef broth.
Roasting the bones and veggies together in the oven before making the broth will intensify the flavor the finished soup. Also, adding a little cider vinegar to the water helps release minerals stored in the bones. Medicinal mushrooms such as Reishi, Maitake or Shiitake can be sautéed in a little olive oil and added to boost immunity. Ingredients:
